Certification
A diamond certificate is a blueprint of your diamond.
It describes, maps and grades everything about your diamond,
except for the retail value. An appraisal is needed to
confirm the full market retail value.
- A Diamond Certificate describes your diamond's:
- Proportions
- Color and clarity
- Shape and cutting style
- Carat weight
- Location, size and type of inclusions
- Fluorescence
- And other laboratory comments
When you buy a diamond from Day-Star, you are buying
a diamond that has been analyzed and graded by the Gemological
Institute of America(GIA) or the American
Gem Society (AGS), both highly respected in the diamond
trade for providing the most accurate, unbiased systems
for grading diamonds.
Every certified diamond comes with an original certificate
describing the characteristics of the diamond. The picture
below is a sample of such a certificate.

In addition to details about each of the
"4C's" (cut, color, clarity, and carat weight),
it also shows the certificate number and an illustration
of any inclusions or other flaws in the diamond.
